ayza wine and chocolate bar

 Dessert break at Ayza:

Yeah, we made good use of our complimentary sangria shots.

To my amusement (and disappointment) both of our desserts arrived looking nearly identical.

.....

The New York cheesecake (top) was nothing short of pre-packaged frozen cheesecake. Given our waiter's ambiguous answer to whether the desserts were made in-house, we deduced it was from some ordinary bakery or supermarket.

The creme brulee 20-layer crepe cake (bottom) with its paper-thin caramelized crust consisted of slightly soggy crepe layers and a bland custard to bind them together.

I had expected much more -or at least more than stale supermarket food -considering the hefty prices. I don't remember sampling desserts this unimpressive in a long while.
